Former India captain and veteran wicketkeeper-batter, MS Dhoni made his presence at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi on Thursday, February 19. The 44-year-old, who is just seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL), was mobbed by the Tripura women’s cricket team, who surrounded him for autographs.
The Ranchi-born, who is practicing ahead of IPL 2026, was spotted maintaining his calm while signing autographs for the women players. Moreover, the veteran keeper-batter was also seen interacting with a few players while some tried to capture this moment in the lifetime as they tried to take pictures. The 44-year-old also had brief discussions with some of the stadium personnel before taking the driver seat.
MS Dhoni set eyes on IPL trophy in his probable last season
MS Dhoni, who is known to be one of the most successful Indian captains and the joint-most successful captain in the IPL history, alongside Rohit Sharma, will be seen donning the CSK jersey once again in what is speculated to be his last season.
While the season will see Ruturaj Gaikwad return at the helm after he missed majority of season due to an elbow injury which led to MS Dhoni lead the Yellow Army.
In the IPL 2026, MS Dhoni is expected to be mentoring the young players as CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed. In a statement by Kasi, quoted by Times Now, he said, “He will be there and he the guy who is going to help the youngsters. You would have seen it after an IPL game – players, whether CSK of opponents, are always with him for at least an hour after the match, talking about cricket and his advice. That matters a lot, and it will be beneficial for these youngsters.”
