WATCH: Virat Kohli’s hilarious reaction on being called ‘overseas player’ during IPL 2026

2 hours ago 19

Ahead of defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on April 5, star batter and former skipper Virat Kohli showed up in one of the episodes of RCB Insider with Mr Nags.

Danish Sait, who features as Mr. Nags, quickly came up with a question of the franchise playing with 5 overseas players. While it once shocked everyone, it was an indirect dig at Virat Kohli, who has been living in London off late, especially after his retirement from T20Is and Test cricket.

In a light-hearted interaction, Sait jokingly labelled Kohli as RCB’s fifth overseas player. Kohli, who if often seen bringing his wit to the front, quickly replied, “I am not understanding what they are asking actually.” The 37-year-old silenced Sait, adding, “I don’t know why are you asking me? Ask the overseas players. I am not an overseas player.”

Will AI finally take Mr. Nags’s job? 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗡𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝘅 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼?? 🤯🤯🤯

Before the two moved on to another question, the Indian batter turned the question back at the host, asking, “Am I an overseas player?” before bursting into laughter. Since the video has gone live, it has been doing rounds on social media, attracting over 344.8K views on X, as of writing.

RCB eye to make it two in a row as they face CSK

The Rajat Patidar-led side, who ended their trophy drought after beating Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 final, kickstarted their season on a positive note. The Bengaluru-based franchise chased the 202-run target, set by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 15.4 overs to register 6-wicket win in their IPL 2026 opener. Virat Kohli played match-winning knock of unbeaten 69 off 38 deliveries at a strike rate of 181.58.

His knock saw him achieve several milestones, including him surpassing Shoaib malik to become Asian cricketer with most T20 runs. Moreover, with his 38-ball 69*, he also surpassed 4000 runs in successful chases.
