On Thursday, April 9, Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered their only second win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. Coming into the game after a 5-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in an away game, they cruised to another win, courtesy of 50-plus knocks from Ayush Badoni and youngster Mukul Choudhary.
After being put to chase the 182-run target, Badoni (54 off 34) and Mukul Choudhary (54* off 27) helped the side seal victory in a last ball thriller at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
While Badoni had done this previously as well, the 21-year-old Rajasthan cricketer rose to fame with his unbeaten knock, which was laced with two fours and 7 sixes, striking at the rate of 200.00. Coming out to bat after Abdul Samad’s dismissal, Mukul stitched a 21-run stand with Badoni, followed by a short stint with Shami. Thereafter, he stitched a match-winning 54-run partnership with Avesh Khan off 24 balls to help his side to victory. Mind you, Avesh scored just one run in that stand.
