India found their future stars in 2023. Players like Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal showed a lot of promise with their scintillating performances this year. In Asian Games and smaller tours like Ireland and West Indies, India Cricket Team preferred to send their young bridge to the assignment. Even against South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav and KL Rahul led young team in T20Is and ODIs respectively. They did not disappoint. Apart from Rinku and Jaiswal, the likes of Sai Sudharsan and Tilak Varma impressed one and all.

As 2023 comes to a close, let’s take a look at 5 emerging Indian cricketers who will definitely be the ones for the future.

Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh has been a revelation for Indian cricket. He came to the spotlight when he smashed five consecutive sixes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 in KKR vs GT match. It did not take long for the selectors to pick him for T20I squad.

Since his debut, he has scored 262 runs in 12 T20Is and has also impressed in two ODIs, coming down the order. In T20Is, he has managed an impressive strike rate of 180.68, playing the role of a finisher to perfection.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal also had an excellent IPL 2023 season where he scored 625 runs at an average of 48.08. Jaiswal also bagged one hundred in the tournament. Combine that with some strong showing in domestic cricket, Jaiswal was called up for the Test series against West Indies. And he made an instant impression with a century on his debut in July. After that start, it was time for him to shine in T20Is to make a strong case for T20 World Cup 2024. So far, he definitely has impressed with blazing starts.

Tilak Varma

A find of Mumbai Indians scouting team, Tilak Varma is being considered a future star. His flamboyance, unorthodox shots and a little bit of bowling skills make him a threat to the opposition. After an impressive IPL 2023 campagn, he has been fast-tracked to India T20I and ODI squads.

He has already played a few impactful knocks for the Indian team in ODIs and T20s. Tilak made his ODI debut in the Asia Cup against Bangladesh, but he showed his real talent in the T20I format. He scored 310 runs in 15 matches at an average of 34.44 and a strike rate of 141.55.

Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan became the second Indian to score two consecutive fifties in the first two ODIs. Te youngster from Tamil Nadu made his debut in the ODI series against South Africa and scored 127 runs at an average of 63.50. With impressive IPL campaign already in the bag, te future looks bright for another top-order batter from Tamil Nadu.

Prabhsimran Singh

Prabhsimran Singh had received a maiden call-up for the Asian Games squad of India. He had an excellent Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 where he scored 358 runs at a strike rate of 150.42. He was the second-highest run-scorer for Punjab Kings in the last IPL. With India still searching for a high-impact wicketkeeper-batter in T20Is, he could just make the cut as he is only 23 compared to Jitesh Singh, who has already impressed in T20Is.
