Three players who can replace Mitchell Marsh in DC squad for IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals were dealt with a massive blow ahead of their next game against Gujarat Titans. Ricky Ponting has confirmed that Mitchell Marsh isn’t scheduled to return for the rest of the IPL 2024 season owing to the Australian suffering from a hamstring injury.

This leaves a huge hole in the Delhi Capitals team in what is already yet another bad season, Rishabh Pant needs a few wins to keep their hopes of qualifications alive. With just three wins so far, the Delhi team is having its back against the wall this season.

While a replacement name hasn’t been announced yet, there are a few players who can come in and do the job for Delhi. Ideally, Delhi Capitals will be looking at one more batter who can give the team some solidity.

Here are the three players who could replace Mitchell Marsh for Delhi Capitals

3. Jason Holder

The West Indian all-rounder can be an ideal replacement for Mitchell Marsh as he can bowl well with the new ball also in the death overs. Jason Holder also has the ability to bat well and can use the long handle. One of the biggest strengths that Jason Holder has is that he can bat in the middle-order and can change the pace of batting as per the situation.

2. Rassie van der Dussen

The South African has played a handful of games in the IPL without much impact. Rassie Van Der Dussen is one of the most underrated white ball players with his big-hitting ability. The veteran batter packs a punch against the pace bowlers and also can use his feet well against the spinners.

1. Ryan Rickelton

This move could be one that can be termed as out of the left field. Ryan Rickelton has been one of the best young talents during the SA20 this year. Many have already compared his shot-making to Quinton De Kock for the uncanny resemblance. Delhi Capitals can slot at the top of the order with either Prithvi Shaw or Jake Fraser-McGurk to get some flying starts in the powerplay overs.
