Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are having some scouting trouble. The Virat Kohli leaving Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) rumour has been quashed. The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction could return to India again. Kohli and Rohit Sharma will help Shubman Gill. Kohli’s also expected to succeed in Australia. Lastly, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been given a leadership position in Bihar’s team.

Kohli staying at RCB

In the last couple of days, reports have been swirling around stating that Virat Kohli has rejected a commercial contract with RCB and could potentially leave the IPL franchise. Kohli’s former Delhi teammate Aakash Chopra has denied these claims, explaining why he won’t do so.

Suryavanshi named Bihar vice-captain

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named vice-captain of Bihar’s Ranji Trophy team. The 14-year-old recently scored hundreds for the India Under-19 team against England and Australia. Suryavanshi has played 5 first-class matches already and will play against Arunachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Plate on October 15 in Patna.

IPL 2026 auction venue

The BCCI will bring the IPL auction to India for the 2026 edition. Dubai and Saudi Arabia were the venues in 2023 and 2024, respectively, but after the Middle East trial run, the BCCI has decided to bring it back home. The host city hasn’t been confirmed, but the IPL 2026 auction will likely take place between December 13 and 15.

CSK are having issues with finding a worthy replacement for Ravichandran Ashwin. Although CSK will have an extra INR 9.75 crore, they haven’t been able to find any good spinners in the domestic T20 leagues and don’t think international-level spinners will be up for grabs in the IPL 2026 auction.

Current Gujarat Titans batting coach Parthiv Patel believes that India’s new ODI captain, Shubman Gill, will have no issues dealing with two former captains and superstars in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. He thinks they’ll play the same role as MS Dhoni did for Kohli and Kohli did for Rohit.

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh is hopeful that Virat Kohli will score two hundreds in the upcoming 3-match ODI series between India and Australia. Kohli will play his first international game since March, while his last competitive game, the IPL 2025 final, took place in June.
