Ishan Kishan trolls Punjab Kings after series of dropped catches in IPL 2026

1 hour ago 9

In match number 49 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 33 runs to claim the top of the table. The latter’s third straight defeat dropped them to second place, but what affected them more was a series of dropped catches in the match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. After the match, SRH batter Ishan Kishan was seen taking a sly dig at PBKS, following the latter handing him three lifelines in the game.

Catch me if you can: Ishan Kishan’s cheeky dig goes viral

Taking to his Instagram handle, Ishan posted pictures of his knock against PBKS following the win. What grabbed the eyeballs was the caption, which read, “Catch me if you can”.  While he did not mention PBKS anywhere, the word “catch” seemed key as he was awarded three lifelines during his  33-ball stay, helping him put 55 runs on the board.

This comes after he was first dropped by Cooper Connolly at deep backward square off Lock Ferguson’s over, followed by another missed opportunity by Ferguson off Yuzvendra Chahal’s over. Thereafter, a failed stumping by Prabhsimran in the 11th over also went in favour of the SRH batter.

PBKS getting trolled after consecutive defeats

While Ishan Kishan was just spot on with his cheeky remarks following PBKS’ defeat against SRH, it comes only days after Shubman Gill, along with Sai Sudharsan and Washington Sundar, also posed for a special picture following their 4-wicket win against PBKS. The trio were seen emulating PBKS’ signature pose with a caption reading, “Bas jeetna hai. Ava de”.

This is next level Social Media game from Shubman Gill 😭😂

Speaking of PBKS, the Shreyas Iyer-led side is well in the competition with six wins and three defeats in 10 games. With four more league stage fixtures left for them, where they will face Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 11, Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 14, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on May 17 and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on May 23, it has to be seen whether they’ll return to winning ways.
