Ashwin names 4 performers from The Hundred who could go big in IPL 2026 auction

Ravichandran Ashwin has predicted four players who performed in The Hundred 2025 season who could do well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction. The names he took were players who haven’t yet played in the cash-rich league.

The first player Ashwin mentioned was Jordan Cox from the Oval Invincibles. He ended up as the highest run-scorer in The Hundred. He played a 40-run knock from 28 balls and earned the player of the series award.

“One of the players who doesn’t play in the IPL and will get a chance is Jordan Cox. He batted incredibly well for the Oval Invincibles. Gave match-winning performances and is 24 years old. Has a long way ahead, strikes a big ball. Maybe he comes on the radar of a team; who knows? Maybe the Mumbai Indians could also end up picking him,” Ashwin said on his YouTube show, Ash ki Baat.

Josh Tongue and Sonny Baker were his next two picks. Both played for Manchester Originals. Tongue ended as the highest wicket-taker in The Hundred, while Baker played second fiddle to him. However, Baker will make his ODI debut against South Africa on September 2 and his T20I debut later in the month against Ireland. Lastly, Ashwin named all-rounder Rehan Ahmed. The leg-spinner took 12 wickets, the second most, and was among the top 20 run-scorers.

“Josh Tongue did well in the Test series (against India), but for the Manchester Originals, he bowled really well. Another player from the same team, Sonny Baker, bowls a good inswinger and is a very good exponent of the new ball. Rehan Ahmed, not for his bowling but for his batting. He played at number three/four and did well. He can also give you some leg spin. But I think number one (pick) will be Jordon Cox,” Ashwin added.
