Rishabh Pant is the reason behind Sarfaraz Khan missing out on the India A squad. The selectors feel there are too many options for numbers 5 and 6, with Pant, Dhruv Jurel, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Nitish Kumar Reddy all contending for these two spots. So, if Sarfaraz wants to play Test cricket, he should try batting at number 3.

WPL 2026 auction details

The WPL 2026 mega auction will take place on November 26 and 27 in New Delhi. The purse will remain the same, INR 15 crore. Teams will be allowed 5 retentions or RTM cards. No more than 3 capped Indian players, 2 overseas players, or 2 uncapped players can be retained.
